The Mercy Seat II
This is one of a series of drawings inspired by the Mercy Seat, a small feature on the Arc of the Covenant that the Old Testament designated as a place of exquisite holiness where mankind could engage with Yahweh. In contrast, I found joy and wonder in the New Testament’s promise of grace and a relationship with God in all things and all places for all who believe. The sketches of feathers represent wings that give us access to the Divine.
