Rehobeth Beach Shells
Much like myself, my father’s brother, Bill, was drawn to the beach from an early age. Every summer, he and his family would embark on the grueling drive from New Jersey to Wellfleet, Cape Cod. (This was before the interstate highway system was built.) Later in life he and his wife, Elizabeth, purchased a condominium at Rehobeth Beach, Delaware. As often as they could, Bill and Elizabeth would escape to Rehobeth to take refuge from the intense pressures of life in Washington, D.C. I created this piece for them to decorate their condo.
