9/11 Mosaic

This is the first work that I completed in reaction to the tragic events of 9/11. It depicts the chaos, confusion, and ruin which occurred on that day, including the suffering and death of both the many innocent victims and the first responders who attempted to save them, but themselves became victims when the Twin Towers fell. Seen here are hands reaching out from under the rubble in hope of being saved from death. In the end, some were saved, many were not, but all involved were transformed in one way or another. Near the center of the piece is the image of a rose, representing a blessing for all from Saint Theresa.
