Fish within a Fish
The fish symbol, also known as the Ichthys symbol, is a pictorial representation of the Greek word ichthys, which is an acronym for Iesous Christos, Theou Yios, Soter, meaning “Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior”. Early Christians began using the symbol as early as the end of the first century C.E., and it’s believed that Christians hiding from persecution carved images of fish into the ancient catacombs of Rome.
